SETUP AND STARTUP

SIR carries out the design and installation of measurement networks for air/water quality, meteorological stations, including remote, fixed or mobile cabins, meteorological sensor masts, data acquisition and management systems based on Datalogger or SCADA and control centres. The specific location and equipment will be determined by the needs and requirements of each customer.

MAINTENANCE

SIR has carried out maintenance operations associated to measurement network instrumentation and meteorological stations since its foundation, in 1985. For over two decades, SIR has offered a maintenance service based on the experience and high quality of the technical staff always aiming towards the highest degree of excellence. This has been certified by the numerous Organisms, Entities and Industries which have contracted our services.

CALIBRATION

The calibration procedures developed by our Calibration Laboratory, cover all the range of equipment commercialized by SIR. This allows us to offer a high level of reliability in the final measurements of the different environmental parameters. These calibration procedures are based on national and international regulations and recommendations and their application is done by qualified professionals with ample experience in the field. The equipment used for calibration is always traceable back to national and international standards through the network of ENAC accredited Calibration Laboratories or other international accreditation organisms which are members of EA (European Cooperation for Accreditation).

DATA VALIDATION

SIR counts with expert technicians in the management of environmental data obtained from analyzers of inmissions, emissions, meteorology, noise, water, etc. Amongst the numerous activities which we carry out for our customers, are the following:

Inmissions, Emissions:

• Reception of data from remote locations, collected by means of Datalogger or SCADA systems.
• Review of the time and geographical consistency of the information.
• Review of inmission levels of NOx, SO2, CO, O3 and PM10 and PM2.5 particles, according to Spanish and European legislation.
• Production of measurement campaign reports.

Noise, Water Quality:

• Calculation of Leq noise parameters.
• Determination of water suitability for human consumption, waterlife and other uses.
• Production of environmental reports.
• Generation of Alerts triggered by contaminant thresholds.

Meteorology:

• Determination of predominant winds according to wind roses.
• Generation of statistic reports based on historical data.
• Generation of contaminant roses.

REPAIRS AND UPDATES

Most of the maintenance work carried out on equipment manufactured or distributed by SIR is carried out in situ by our technical staff. Nevertheless, ocassionally the nature of the issue may require that the material is moved to our premises, where it is identified and registered. The technical department at SIR is in charge of inspecting the equipment and verifying its condition, carrying out any repairs and whenever necessary, updating the instrument firmware.

TRAINING

Our staff at SIR follow a continuous training programme to ensure that our technicians are familiar with the latest developments in measurement techniques, equipment design and calibration. We also count with Traning Area to ensure a constant communication between the final users of the equipment and our technical personnel which covers the requirements and training possibilities for each customer.

Customer training is mainly aimed towards a rapid detection of any incidences by the user of the instrumentation, thus aiding in troubleshooting and facilitating any necessary interventions by our technicians.

For this purpose we count with the appropriate facilities at our head office, where technical and practical courses are taught, covering operating principles, equipment handling and basic maintenance.
