Calibration
consists in a set of operations which, in specified conditions,
establishes the relationship between the values in a magnitude
indicated by an instrument or measurement system or the values
represented by a materialized measurement or reference material and the
corresponding values of a measurement magnitude or standard.
In regard with instrumentation, calibration is the
determination of the function which establishes the relation between
the concentration of a contaminant in the air and the reading of an
instrument.
Due to the specific characterisitics of the
instrumentation, it is very important to carry out periodic
calibrations. Calibration is the only tool which can ensure that a
device maintains its working specifications or if it has lost
sensitivity.
Calibration systems supplied by SIR are perfectly designed to guarantee a correct calibration of the instrumentation at all times.
